A MANUFACTURING SERVICE BUILT AROUND THE PRODUCT

More Than Cut and Sew

Stitch Expo provides apparel manufacturing services for clothing brands, fashion startups, sports teams, retailers and organisations. Our work begins by understanding the garment: its intended use, silhouette, measurements, material, construction, decoration, quantity, branding and delivery market.

We do not treat every enquiry as the same product. A heavyweight streetwear hoodie, stretch activewear set, technical sports uniform, washed denim jacket and insulated outerwear style each require different development decisions. Our team reviews those requirements before recommending a practical production route.

Clients can begin with a tech pack, measurement chart, artwork, reference sample, sketches or clear reference images. The information available determines what must be developed and confirmed before production.

SERVICES ACROSS THE PRODUCT LIFECYCLE

Apparel Development, Production and Finishing Under One Workflow

Our manufacturing service connects the technical and commercial stages required to move a garment from an idea to an approved, packed product.

01

Pre-Production Consultation

Before pricing or sampling, we review the garment category, intended customer, reference quality, target fit, quantity, size range, branding and delivery destination. This early review helps identify whether the design requires custom pattern development, specialist materials, wash treatment, moulded components or testing.

A useful brief reduces assumptions. When a tech pack is incomplete, our team can identify the construction, measurement, artwork and trim information that still needs confirmation.

02

Textile, Trim and Component Sourcing

Material sourcing is assessed according to the product rather than appearance alone. Considerations include fibre composition, GSM or ounce weight, knit or weave, stretch and recovery, breathability, surface texture, colour, shrinkage, wash behaviour and compatibility with decoration.

Depending on the design, sourcing may also cover ribbing, elastic, drawcords, zippers, snap buttons, eyelets, thread, interlining, insulation, lining, labels, patches and packaging components.

03

Patterns, Fit and Size Development

Garment fit is established through measurements and pattern shape. The base pattern reflects the approved silhouette, ease, length, balance, panel construction and functional details. After the base size is reviewed, grading can extend the pattern across the required size range.

Measurements should be confirmed with defined points of measure and tolerances. Generic size names such as Small, Medium and Large are not sufficient without an agreed chart.

04

Prototyping and Sample Approval

A development sample gives the buyer an opportunity to evaluate fabric, fit, dimensions, construction, trims and brand applications before authorising production. Complex decoration may also require a print strike-off, embroidery sew-out, patch sample or colour reference.

Requested corrections should be documented clearly. Bulk production should follow the final approved specifications rather than an earlier visual reference.

05

Bulk Apparel Production

Once approvals are complete, production may include material preparation, spreading, cutting, panel numbering, printing or embroidery, sewing, pressing, finishing and in-line checks. The sequence changes according to the garment and decoration method.

Order quantity, colour breakdown and material availability influence production setup. Timelines are confirmed after the final design, sample status and commercial details are reviewed.

06

Branding, Packaging and Export Preparation

Private-label production can include main labels, care and composition labels, size labels, heat-transfer neck marks, hang tags, patches, branded hardware, folding instructions, poly bags and carton markings. Each component must be approved before use.

Finished orders are packed according to the agreed breakdown and prepared for the selected courier or freight arrangement. Delivery time, import duties and destination requirements depend on the agreed shipping terms.

Manufacturing Capabilities

Select an individual service or coordinate the full process through Stitch Expo.

01

Design Review & Product Planning

We review garment references, sketches, technical files, quantities and brand requirements to identify missing specifications and production considerations.

02

Tech Packs & Specifications

Available information can be organised into clearer construction, measurement, material, artwork, colour, trim and packaging instructions.

03

Fabric & Material Sourcing

Fabric selection considers composition, GSM or ounce weight, structure, stretch, hand feel, performance, wash treatment, colour and availability.

04

Pattern Making & Size Grading

Patterns are prepared around the approved design and measurements, then graded across the required size range after the base size is confirmed.

05

Sample Development

Physical samples allow fit, measurements, construction, fabric, colour, decoration, trims and visible workmanship to be assessed before bulk production.

06

Cutting & Sewing

Approved patterns and specifications guide material preparation, cutting, panel identification, assembly, seam construction and finishing.

07

Printing & Embroidery

Screen printing, DTF, DTG, sublimation, heat transfer, flat embroidery, 3D puff, chenille, appliqué and patches are selected for the garment and artwork.

08

Private-Label Branding

Woven labels, printed labels, heat-transfer neck marks, size labels, hang tags, branded trims, patches, packaging and other identity components can be developed.

09

Quality Control & Packing

Production is reviewed against approved references before garments are finished, cleaned, labelled, folded, packed and prepared for dispatch.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Turning an Idea Into a Manufacturable Garment

Product development connects design intent with production reality. Details that appear simple in a mockup—such as an oversized silhouette, dropped shoulder, curved panel, unusual pocket or large embroidery—must be translated into measurements, pattern shapes, seam construction and suitable materials.

DECORATION & BRAND IDENTITY

Decoration Selected for the Fabric, Artwork and Use

The correct method depends on artwork detail, number of colours, finished dimensions, placement, fabric composition, stretch, texture, heat sensitivity, quantity and intended surface. Testing or a strike-off may be required before bulk production.

QUALITY CONTROL

Approved Details Must Carry Into Production

Quality control is most effective when expectations are defined before production. The approved sample, measurement chart, artwork dimensions, colour references, labels and packing requirements provide the basis for review.

  • Garment measurements and stated tolerances
  • Panel alignment, seam construction and visible stitching
  • Fabric appearance, colour and approved finishing
  • Print dimensions, placement, coverage and curing
  • Embroidery alignment, density and visible workmanship
  • Trim, zipper, button, label and patch attachment
  • Loose threads, marks, cleanliness and overall presentation
  • Folding, size identification, packaging and carton preparation

Inspection cannot make an undefined requirement measurable. Clear specifications and timely approvals remain essential throughout the project.

SERVICES FAQ

Questions About Custom Apparel Production

These are general answers. Final requirements must be confirmed for the actual product.

Can Stitch Expo develop a product without a complete tech pack?

Projects can begin with sketches, reference images, measurements or a physical reference, but missing construction, material, sizing and artwork information must be clarified during development. A clearer specification normally produces a clearer quotation and approval process.

Do you provide both samples and bulk manufacturing?

Yes. Sample development is used to assess the proposed garment before bulk production. Sample type, cost and timing depend on the product, material, decoration and development required.

What is your minimum order quantity?

MOQ is confirmed per style and colour because it depends on fabric availability, custom dyeing, trims, decoration and production setup. It should not be assumed from one universal number.

Can you manufacture under our private label?

Yes. Available private-label elements include garment labels, size identification, neck branding, hang tags, patches, branded trims and custom packaging, subject to the product and quantity.

Which printing or embroidery method should we choose?

The correct method depends on fabric composition, stretch, texture, heat sensitivity, artwork detail, colour count, dimensions, placement, quantity and intended finish. Our team reviews these factors before recommending a production method.

Do you ship custom apparel internationally?

Orders can be prepared for international courier or freight delivery. Available routes, transit estimates, duties and commercial terms depend on the destination, shipment size and agreed shipping arrangement.
